The Watford Partnership aims to ensure that all partnership schools provide the highest quality Initial Teacher Training and Early Career Framework (ITTECF) provision.
We work in partnership with the University of Hertfordshire for initial teacher training (ITT), and with Chiltern Teaching School Hub for the ECF and Early Career Teacher Entitlement (ECTE). We also use Department for Education (DfE)-approved materials from University College London (UCL), delivered in collaboration with the Education Development Trust (EDT), to support the professional development of teachers.
The Partnership is designed not only to support recruitment of ITT trainees across partner schools, but also to provide outstanding continuing professional development (CPD) for both Early Career Teachers (ECTs) and ITT trainees.
Outstanding teachers from across the partnership deliver INSET sessions for both the ECT and ITT pathways, using a combination of face-to-face and online methods. This blended approach allows us to make the best use of the expertise available across the partnership.
Our innovative and engaging programme is further enriched by additional professional development from external providers on key topics such as behaviour management and cognitive science, including memory and learning.
